A Research Support Specialist in the Critical Care Laboratory is responsible for assisting in experimentation across a broad range of projects. Duties will include surgical procedures, specimen processing, data storage and analysis, and laboratory maintenance. The research support specialist will be responsible for working independently on research projects that have been designed by the group or that he/she may design. Experience with molecular analysis (DNA, RNA, protein) is preferred. The laboratory performs basic science research while also serving as an important teaching and mentoring experience for medical students and surgery residents.

Bachelors Degree in Biology or biology related degree required. General knowledge of computer software ( Microsoft Word, Excel) for collection and analysis. 

A general knowledge of anatomy and physiology or related field and ability to perform molecular analysis techniques (e.g. Western Blot, PCR&) is preferred. Surgical competency is preferred.

Monday - Friday, Some weekends and evenings depending on Research.
