Job Summary: As a member of the Moonshot Special Projects Team, the Data Architect will analyze business processes, as well as design, code, test, and implement the resulting software application system, module, or program for data collection or data distribution to external systems, as well as perform dashboard build, participate in research and development, maintain existing dashboards, and be responsible for attending governance and data quality meetings. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, gathering and building data sources, SQL queries, view of both internal and external data structures to allow for fully functional and optimal performing dashboards, developing broad and detail specifications, writing and testing programs, documenting the system and its components and some end user training, assisting users in the use of these systems and help to analyze results, which will require significant business knowledge in Upstate Medical University clinical and non-clinical Systems, and developing, modifying, testing and maintaining screens, menus, pathways, documents, reports and program logic modules. The Data Architect will provide off-hours support for critical problem resolution, assist the training team as necessary, and assist in the evaluation of new features, products and technologies.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years relevant experience or Associate's degree level and five (5) years related experience, plus strong analytical and interpersonal skills. 

**Candidates who possess a Bachelor's degree and 2 years relevant experience or an Associate's degree and a minimum of four (4) years relevant experience may be considered for appointment to a lower level (SL3) position at a commensurate salary. 

Preferred Qualifications:

 Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related area. Relational Database experience with and strong SQL background; Ability to troubleshoot application issues working with end users, vendors and IT Staff. Experience with Healthcare is not mandatory but is preferred; Tableau experience is a plus.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
