Job Summary:

The licensed clinical social worker position provides high quality of care to a diverse outpatient population of Adults at Upstate Outpatient Clinic.

In this position, the social worker provides comprehensive psycho-social assessment, management and support to at patients and families.  The clinician assess the clinical needs of patients, recommend, and deliver appropriate therapeutic interventions, including individual and group psychotherapy.

Exemplifies the Upstate mission, vision, values, and acts in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

MSW from a Social Work program accredited by the Council on Social Work (CSWE); M.S.W., L.M.S.W., L.C.S.W. or eligible, 3 years relevant post-master's experience (preferably in a hospital and/or healthcare environment) required. New M.S.W. graduates who are L.M.S.W. eligible will be considered for appointment to entry level (SL2) position at a commensurate salary after obtaining a Limited Permit. Incumbent must obtain L.M.S.W. within 12 months of receipt of limited permit.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience with dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) preferred but not required as training will be provided.

Outpatient experience in Hospital setting preferred.

Work Days:

Monday-Friday, varied hours.
