Job Summary: The Nurse Residency Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the Upstate University Hospital Nurse Residency Program. In addition, the Nurse Residency Coordinator works closely with Colleges of Nursing and multiple internal departments to appropriately place student nurses and ensure exemplary learning experiences while at Upstate. The coordinator will also maintain and further develop relationships with schools in the community by participating in community outreach, including middle and high school career days, information sessions at schools of nursing, and Upstate Nursing Recruitment events.
Minimum Qualifications:

NYS Licensed/Registered Nurse (or eligible) required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a minimum of 3 years post-licensure acute care nursing experience required. Excellent written/oral communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and networking and skills required. CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Nursing, Education or matriculation in a Masters program preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office suite strongly preferred, including Excel/Word/Powerpoint/Outlook. Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience with education or mentoring in a nursing or health care setting preferred. Experience in a nursing leadership role or nursing education role preferred. National certification as a Nurse Educator (CNE) or in Nursing Professional Development (NPD) preferred.

Work Days:

Monday-Friday, with occasional weekends and evenings based on events.
